The new A·R·T skin care system contains 3 products - a gentle foaming cleanser, and two moisturizers - day and night. The purpose of the products is to repair the DNA of the skin, thicken the skin, increase the amount of collagen under the skin to give it a fuller, healthier, less wrinkled look, and reduce the risk of developing skin cancer. The fragrances are delightfully light and natural. They have just a hint of pine which would be the alpha-pinene in the frankincense and sandalwood.

The cleanser contains frankincense, sandalwood, melissa, and chamomile, as well as vitamin E and green tea leaf extracts - all natural antioxidants.

The day creme contains a photolyase enzyme which uses daylight to repair DNA. It also contains wolfberry seed oil, vitamins A, C, and E, and frankincense and sandalwood oils

The night creme contains enzymes which use the body's energy to repair and replace damaged DNA. This is amazing because the process actually involves locating damaged DNA strands, removing the portion which is damaged, and replacing it with a new section containing information from the original undamaged blueprint. Q1: What are enzymes and how do they actually repair DNA?

A1: An enzyme is a protein molecule produced inside our bodies that triggers chemical reactions of other substances. When we are exposed to the sun, DNA is attacked in the nucleus or "brain" of the cells. When DNA is damaged, cytokines are released and cause apoptosis, the "death of cells," peeling and increased risk of skin cancer. The DNA repair enzymes are DNA Binding Proteins that penetrate the skin via liposome technology, and have a strong attraction to the DNA in the nucleus. The liposomes have been engineered to explode within the cell and release the enzymes that immediately target DNA. New enzymes restore damaged DNA and improve texture and appearance of skin.

Q2: How do the Day Activator and Night Reconstructor Creams differ?

A2: The Day Activator contains a light-activated Photolyase enzyme that uses natural and artificial light to repair damaged DNA during the day, while the Night Reconstructor contains an Endonuclease enzyme that uses energy in your body to restore DNA at night. Q3: Does the Day Activator Cream contain an SPF?

A3: No, the Day Activator does not contain an SPF. Sunscreen should be applied over the Day Activator to protect skin from serious sun damage.

Q4: If I use sunscreen, will the Photolyase (light-activated) enzyme in the Day Activator still work?

A4: Yes. Although sunscreen will protect skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, it should not interfere with the enzymes ability to penetrate the skin and restore damaged DNA.

A8: No. Whenever possible, YL uses natural sources and/or non-animal sourced ingredients in our formulations. In rare instances, and when there aren't naturally-sourced alternatives, YL may utilize modified natural substances, or ingredients from an animal source, to allow for superior performance and stability. Q9: What essential oils are included in these products?

A9: Frankincense, Sandalwood, German Chamomile and Melissa. The Frankincense and Sandalwood support DNA repair, while the German Chamomile and Melissa support skin health.

Q10: If these products contain essential oils, are they still considered oil-free products?

A10: Not oil-free, but free from animal or synthetic oils (lanolin, mineral oil) and other fatty acids like other oil-based cosmetic products. Essential Oils are only comprised of chemical compounds and should not clog pores or irritate skin.

Q11: What other essential oil, nutritional or personal care products should be used with the A·R·T Essentials System?

A11: All of our products can be used with the A·R·T Essentials System (Refer to EDR). It is also important to remember that good health, exercise, water, vitamins and minerals, antioxidants, cleansing programs and dietary supplements all support healthy skin. ART is intended as the base or fundamental first steps. Other products can be used internally and externally to support (individual needs).

Q12: How should you incorporate use of the Wolfberry Eye Cr� with the skin care products?

A12: This product can, and should be used morning and night to enhance moisturization around the surface of the eye area, ease eye puffiness, diminish dark circles and to promote skin tightening. Some of the essential oils in the Wolfberry Eye Cr� have also been shown to support DNA repair as well. Product can be applied before or after use of the Day and Night creams.

Q13: Why should I use the Day Activator instead of the Sandalwood Moisture Cream or Neurogen?

A13: Day Activator is an anti-aging day cream that helps improve cosmetic appearance by stimulating the production of collagen and supporting DNA repair, and is best suited for the face and neck regions. Sandalwood Moisture Cream or Neurogen can be used in addition to the Day Activator, and may be better suited for use on hands or other parts of the body.

Q14: What are the benefits of using the Sandalwood Toner with this system?

A14: Sandalwood Toner can be used with A·R·T as a complementary product to finalize the cleansing step, return skin to pH balance, and prepare the face for Day Activator application.

Q15: I have dry skin, should I continue to use Regenolone or will the Day Activator and Night Reconstructor Creams provide the moisture my skin needs?

A15: If an application of the A·R·T skin care creams do not provide adequate moisturizing, Regenolone can be used with these products. Use and application of either product should be adjusted according to individual skin care needs.

Q16: Should I use the Orange Blossom Facial Wash or the new Gentle Foaming Cleanser?

A16: Both cleansers can be used as a daily skin care regimen. The Gentle Foaming Cleanser should be used prior to the application of A·R·T skin care creams, while the Orange Blossom Facial Wash can be used anytime during the day, or as needed, for general cleansing.

Q17: Can I still use the Boswellia Wrinkle Cream with this system? What are the benefits?

A17: Yes, Boswellia Wrinkle Cream is a perfect companion product. BWC is loaded with anti-oxidants to maintain cell integrity, fight free-radical damage and support DNA repair with oils like Frankincense and Sandalwood. BWC also contains moisturizing ingredients like retinyl palmitate and soothing oils from the Wolfberry and Grapeseed.

Q18: What will this product do for Rosacea?

A18: Rosacea (pronounced roh-ZAY-sha) is a common but little-known/understood disorder of the facial skin that affects an estimated 14 million Americans and is often characterized by flare-ups and remissions. Many have observed that it typically begins any time after age 30 as a redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that may come and go. In some cases, rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. Over time, the redness becomes ruddier and more persistent, and visible blood vessels may appear. Left untreated, bumps and pimples often develop, and in severe cases the nose may grow swollen and bumpy from excess tissue. Unfortunately, the cause of rosacea is unknown and there is no cure. Typical signs of Rosacea include:

~ Redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead.

~ Small visible blood vessels on the face.

~ Bumps or pimples on the face.

~ Watery or irritated eyes.

Rosacea sufferers can improve their chances of maintaining remission by identifying and avoiding lifestyle and environmental factors that trigger rosacea flare-ups or aggravate their individual conditions. A·R·T can help diminish the redness associated with rosacea, especially for those who have symptoms that appear after prolonged sun exposure. Q19: Will this product affect or improve acne?

A19: This product was not formulated to treat acne; therefore, it is important to continue the use of your existing regimen as it relates to treating acne. For example, if you are using a bacteria killing cleanser or cream, simply incorporate the use of this skin care system into your existing regimen. By discontinuing the use of your acne treatment products, you are more prone to breakouts. However, the A·R·T skin care products DO NOT contain any ingredients such as heavy mineral oils or other synthetics that would foster or enhance blemishes and breakouts, and does not contain any harsh fragrance or other ingredients that irritate skin or clog pores.

Q20: Will this product improve the appearance of scars?

A20: While we have not tested this product on scars, the ability for Matrixyl to plump and thicken the skin could have a positive affect on diminishing the appearance of scars. Although the research is ongoing, you can always incorporate the use of other healthy skin treatments such as Vitamin E that have been shown to reduce the appearance of scars. As we age, scars often start to diminish on their own as well.

Q21: Will this product decrease the size of my pores?

A21: Because A·R·T is not an astringent, it is unknown whether or not this product will help shrink the size of pores. However, ART DOES contain some botanicals, such as Melissa in the Foaming Cleanser that may have that type of affect on skin. In fact, while conducting an informal product trial internally, many men and women saw a noticeable decrease in the appearance of pore size.

Q22: What if I stop using the product, will my skin revert back to its original condition and appearance?

A22: Absolutely. If you aren't enhancing your body's ability to stimulate the production of collagen, and you continue to expose skin to sunlight and other damaging environmental toxins, rugged skin texture, uneven skin tone and wrinkles WILL return. Just as quickly as you noticed the skin improving, skin will return to its pre- treatment condition once product use is discontinued.
